Context
These offices were to be the Mumbai headquarters for a Swiss charitable foundation.
Concept
The Volkart Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that has been integrally involved in the economic and social betterment of the impoverished for many decades. As a charitable organization, we were given the mandate to create a subtle interior of moderate cost with durable, long-lasting finishes.
Our approach was straightforward:
Created independent workstations with the ability to add modular storage as needed.
Used a two-tone veneer effect to reflect India’s diverse tapestry:
Lighter maple for work areas.Demure mahogany for office cabins and conference areas.
Incorporated frosted glass paneling between workstations to maximize natural light penetration.
Completed countertops with integral solid surfaces for durability.
