As an education architecture and planning firm, CSA Partners designs learning environments that support students at every level, from elementary schools to university auditoriums. Our education portfolio includes schools in Chicago Public Schools, such as George Washington Carver Elementary, Kenwood Academy High School, Wendell Phillips Academy, Audubon Elementary, and Whitney M. Young Magnet School, alongside higher education work like the BITS Pilani Auditorium in India.

Designing for education means designing for a wide range of users at once, students, teachers, administrators, and the surrounding community. Each audience has different needs from the same building. Our public school projects have focused on creating safe, flexible, light-filled classrooms and shared spaces that support both structured instruction and informal learning, while remaining responsive to the budget and operational realities that public education projects typically face.

At the university level, projects like the BITS Pilani Auditorium called for a different set of priorities: acoustics, sightlines, and flexibility for lectures, performances, and campus events, all within a facility that needed to serve as a landmark on campus.

As an education architecture and planning firm, we also think beyond the individual building to how it fits into a broader campus or neighborhood context, circulation patterns, outdoor space, and how a school or university building contributes to its surrounding community. Education buildings are used daily for decades, often by generations of the same families, and we design with that long horizon in mind. For us the experiential value of the spaces is paramount.
