Context
The TATA Management Training Center is one of the premiere institutions for Executive Level Management Roles. When started, this institute proved to be the place to be and attend for a two-week learning period to enhance and learn core management skills.
Concept
The TATA Management Training Center was originally intended to be an institute for training about 50 trainees at a time, with a building attached and sensitive to the original Wittet design. Initially, a dining room was added, followed by a library. A significant interior renovation was done to the bungalow. Subsequently, a series of bungalows designed as trainee guest quarters were designed to sit in the landscape. The scale of the buildings is subtle, and the play with transparency and opacity makes this design somewhat humble and unique. Today, the institute is used for a variety of different purposes and has hosted many luminaries. The center maintains constant management interaction with other premiere institutes in India as well as Harvard University. Patell Batliwala merged with CSA Partners Ltd.
