Context
These were to be the law offices of one of Mumbai’s high profile firms in the historic Fort precinct.
Concept
The intent was to provide a warm Old English atmosphere often associated with barristers. Careful attention was paid to usage of materials such as Cherry and Mahogany veneers and wood, whose warmth was offset by using ground glass etched and detailed to fit all interstitial zones. All the furniture, fixtures and furnishings were designed by the interior designer to provide a comprehensive approach to design.
The offices were designed as a series of cabins surrounding a series of cluster spaces for immediate discussion and interaction when and where required by the legal partners. An egalitarian approach to the hierarchy of spaces ensured that for both occupants and visitors alike, a sense of equability was maintained.
