Our business grows with your trust

CSA Partners Ltd. Started in 2010 in Chicago and set up a Mumbai office in 2014. Our initial years saw us win three design competitions and two cultural campus projects. Our firm has been fortunate to have clients in the Religious and Cultural and Government & Civic world who have trusted us with consistent repeat business all these years. Our firm approaches each project with a clean slate. Yes, we inherently bring a significant and dedicated skill set for the project, but we fundamentally believe that each project large or small requires its due diligence and undivided attention. As stated on our home page, “Innovation, Beauty, Consistency, are intense motivators in our desire to be a leading architecture and design ﬁrm.” Our quest for the above ensures that each time, we bring our best in service for you. Our footprint and project abilities have grown consistently over time, with 74 projects designed and 51 constructed. Our clients wonder how we manage to deliver on such large projects with repeated success; our secret lies in our humility at multiple levels.

The aesthetic diversity of our work proves self-evident in showing you that we approach each project from the specificity of the client, context, site and metaphor where applicable. This uniqueness then translates into both aesthetic and technological innovation. We have seen time and again that innovation coupled with being lean, humble and nimble, actually reduces project costs rather than hinder them.

Consistency

We try and remain qualitatively consistent in everything we do. Let us not confuse consistency with mundaneness and monotony. Our consistency in quality of design and documentation permits us the innovation we so deeply desire. Consistency is the foundation for our pursuit of innovation. To achieve the former, you must have the latter. A jazz musician of exemplar innovation needs to have their fundamentals known in their sleep.

We believe that beauty in any form is absolute. When things are beautiful one does not need to talk about them. The object and the experiential space within created speaks for itself.

People First

We state in our approach that “Our work has a ‘people ﬁrst’ emphasis, with a ﬁrm belief that design signiﬁcantly inﬂuences the wellbeing of the generations to come.” We stumbled upon this thought very early on in the formation of our firm and came to a realization that if we emphasize this single-minded pursuit in everything that we do, we would see the most favourable outcomes that impact generations. This means that the physical, emotional and spatial wellbeing of our clients, is paramount. This pursuit has seen us get repeated business from all our 50+ past and present clients.

Cyrus Subawalla

Founder

Seeking innovative answers to complex questions; yet ensuring that the simplest essence is distilled from them. I get great joy in believing “there is always a better approach or response out there”.

Daraius Batliwala

Principal Emeritus (2010-2015)

As Principal Emeritus Mr. Batliwala ( A RIBA member) ensured that the firm benefited from the full breadth of his expertise and versatility including projects such as the Taj Intercontinental Tower and the TATA Management Training Center. His mentorship is deeply valued even today.

Rustom Patell

Principal Emeritus (2010-2014)

As Principal Emeritus Mr. Patell (A Taliesin Fellow) brought his immense design expertise to bear fully to the firms benefit. These designs included projects for Bhabha Atomic Research Center and the NCPA.

Gandhali Marathe

Associate Principal

Integrally involved, as well as lead projects from schematic design through construction administration monitoring quality at each step. My other focus is the growth of the practice.

Tejash Panchal

Associate Principal

Leading the technical and research innovation of the practice. My other focus is on design evolution tied to technological advancements.
