Context
The existing facility was a Nursery and kids’ care facility that met certain minimum requirements. CSA Partners Ltd. was tasked with converting this facility into a high-design-quality facility for the Audubon Elementary School.
Concept
Pre-K Facility Conversion | Chicago, Illinois
As Audubon Elementary School’s Pre-K program grew, Chicago Public Schools needed a dedicated space designed for its youngest learners. CSA Partners converted an outdated child-care building into an early learning center that supports exploration and play.
The new facility includes seven classrooms and a multipurpose space filled with light, color and creative details. Large windows, playful interior forms and art-inspired finishes transform a simple structure into an environment that sparks curiosity and connection.
Despite construction delays caused by COVID-19, the project was completed in time to welcome students to a safe, joyful and purpose-built learning space. The Audubon Pre-K Center gives families a vibrant setting where early takes root.
